Material and engraving

On anodised aluminium the laser removes the colour layer and reveals the metal underneath, giving a clean contrast on lighter shades. On silver or metallic finishes the engraving comes out in a more matt tone, discreet and elegant. On bamboo or wood the mark comes out in a toasted tone.

How to choose a pen to engrave

The material: Metal and aluminium give the sharpest engraving; bamboo or wood gives a natural look. If you want a lower-impact option, there are recycled aluminium or recycled plastic models and some with FSC or RCS certification.
The mechanism: Push-button suits people who write in short bursts and want speed; twist is a more understated action and sits well in a jacket pocket. There are also models with a cap.
The ink and how long it lasts: Choose blue or black ink depending on how your company uses it. Each product page gives the writing length, so you know how long the pen lasts before it runs out.
Single pen or set: For handing out in quantity, a single pen. For a client gift, there are sets that combine a pen and a rollerball, or pair a pen with a notebook, clipboard or card holder.
